For the Sick

If your ... is injured, you can pray as follows

If you are lying on your back, and can move your hands, then do as follows:

  1. Face the kiblah
  2. Takbiratulihram with niat
  3. Recite surah al-Fatihah
  4. I'tidal in original position
  5. Bend down your head slightly to ruku'
  6. Bend down your head slightly further to sujud
  7. Return to original position to sit in between two sujuds
  8. Turn your body slightly to one side for tashahud awwal/akhir
  9. Return to original position to end off with salaam

  • If you can only lie on your side, and can move your hands, then do as follows:
  1. Let your chest face the kiblah
  2. Takbiratulihram with niat
  3. Recite surah al-Fatihah
  4. Bend down your head slightly to ruku'
  5. Return to original position for i'tidal
  6. Bend down your head slightly further to sujud
  7. Return to original position to sit in between two sujuds and for tashahud awwal/akhir
  8. End off with salaam

  • If you are unable to move you hands, you can pray using your eyes:
  1. Let your eyes in forward position for i'tidal
  2. Let your eyes in downwards position for ruku'
  3. Close your eyes for sujud

For Travellers

If you are ... you can pray as follows

    If you are in a Moving Vehicle, solat is accepted if:
  • Time to pray is running out
  • No place to stop
  • Not facing the Qiblah and sitting down is allowed
    If you are 2 marhalah (80-100km) away from you hometown, you can jama' qasar:
  • Niat must include 2 rakaat (for zuhr, asr, isya'), qasar and jama' taqdim/ta'khir e.g: 2 rakaat of zuhr, jama' qasr taqdim lillhi ta'alah
  • Doing Asr/Isya’ during the time of Zuhur/Maghrib, 2 rakaats (for zuhur, asr, isya’), is called Jama’ Taqdim.
  • Doing Zuhur/maghrib during the time of Asr/isya’, 2 rakaats (for zuhur, asr, isya’) is called Jama’ Ta’khir.

    • If Placing water will worsen injury
    • When sing irremoveable bandage example : cemented cast
  • Travellers
    • When there is no extra water other than that which you will drink
